"Wow yesterday was a long day. Up at 2am to start the journey. 11 hours, 2 breakfasts, and 1 lunch later we were in Honduras and it was only 1030am. From the airport we traveled to our accommodations for the night and surprise surprise we ate some more! We took an excursion up the mountain to see Jesus Cristo de La MontaNa. It's a big statue of Jesus watching over the city of Tegucigalpa. From early on it is clear that religion is a big part of the culture here. At the park where the statue was located some of us also relived our childhoods with a ride on the swings. It was an enjoyable trip with amazing views of the city. The drive was also interesting as it took us through the city and we got to see the folks in action. We also drove past the all important futbol stadium! Back at our home for the night and I'll give you one guess as to what we did... ATE.
The food has been really delicious so far. Our day ended at 9pm Honduras time which was 11am back home so nearly 24 hours after we started! We got a good nights sleep though followed by more good food and now I write you from the bus on our way to Las Mercedes where we will be conducting our clinic. Shoutouts to Madi Jacob and Peter from Bob, the Nichols and Zhang family from Wendy, and miss you mom from Kerone. Chipmonkie says hi !salam to el badus! And J Archer- staying nYce I hope?"
