Dennis and the students treated 125 patients this morning from several remote villages outside Las Mercedes, roughly about a 45-minute bus ride. The group plans to see more patients this afternoon from the local Las Mercedes area. They are working inside the new maternal clinic, in which construction will be completely finished this summer. In the meantime, it has proven to be a good space to see patients, rather than working inside the old schoolhouse.
The weather is beautiful in Honduras today, and Dennis says the students are so excited to be there, and are already talking about how they'd like to return next year.
